PMDD Personal Stories with Maddy Pridmore
Held on 4th Feb 2021
In this live chat I spoke to PMDD patient Maddy Pridmore all about her PMDD journey. Maddy is 29 years old and was born and raised in France. She moved to the UK in June 2019 and that’s when she started suffering with symptoms. But, it took her until August 2020 to reach out to her Doctor and Gynecologist, when she became desperate and couldn’t take it anymore. That’s the first time she heard about PMDD.
As Maddy explains, “I hope this will be super helpful for others with PMDD, because I suffered for months without realising I had PMDD and I was reluctant to speak to my doctor or Gynecologist about it. I’d never heard of PMDD and the relief I experienced when my doctor and Gynecologist discussed this with me was a great feeling and I wish I’d reached out sooner. I’ve suffered from severe depression and anxiety since 2015, and since last year when my PMDD symptoms started, I would DREAD the 1-2 weeks before my period. There were always 1 or 2 days in the week before my period where I would feel so BAD, I genuinely thought I was having a mental breakdown and it would be so debilitating, I couldn’t function at all. I basically wanted to die and I wouldn’t wish that on ANYONE!”
This webinar will help you to better understand and make sense of some of the challenges and experiences you may have encountered yourself. It will no doubt provide comfort, support and validation knowing you’re not alone on your PMDD journey, whilst at the same time providing you with useful advice from lessons learned and the shared wisdom of the group.
