PMDD, Student and Academic Life
Join us for this panel discussion where we’ll be lifting the lid on what it’s like to be a student / academic with PMDD. Through personal insights, we’ll explore some of the challenges faced as a result of PMDD, as well as sharing positive coping strategies, wisdom and advice!
Thank you to our wonderful panelists for making this happen:
Akshara Soman is a Ph.D. student at the Indian Institute of Science’s Electrical Engineering Department in Bangalore, India. She was diagnosed with PMDD in her fourth year of graduate school, though she had been suffering from it since the end of her second year. She has had severe PMS since the beginning of her MS studies. She uses SSRI, therapy, meditation, and yoga to help her deal with PMDD. Above all, she understands the need of self-care and prioritising our own needs without feeling guilty.
